Supportive Modalities
Ultrasound and Electric Stimulation.
In addition to adjustments, Dr. B uses ultrasound and forms of electric stimulation to treat physical inury or pain. Ultrasound therapy tranmsits a high-frequency sound wave emitted from a quartz crystal transducer head that is gently massaged over a specific area. This creates a micro-massaging effect on the individual cells which releases intra- and extracellular debris to promote healing. Electrical stimulation therapy is a therapeutic treatment that applies electric stimulation. over an injured area that will soothe and relax muscle tissue as well as reduce pain and muscle spasms. Electric stimulation will also increase blood flow to an area which will aid in the healing process.
Myofascial Release
Myofascial tissues surround and support the muscles throughout your body. Myofascial release will consist of an individualized plan of gentle massaging, stretching and pressure to the fascia (and muscles) that can become inflamed as a result of an injury, arthritis or just normal usage. The goal of this type of therapy is to restore an individuals full and pain free range of motion. When reintroducing normal activities and workout schedules, the tissue is then able to regain its comfort, flexibility and strength much more easily and is much less likely to be reinjured or develop into a chronic issue.
